The Palm Beach County Golf Association will host eight team events in 2024. The Annual Amateur Four Ball Championship is will be hosted at Bear Lakes Country Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The competition will consist of Open (49 and younger), Senior (50-59) and Super Senior (60+) contests with points awarded towards each of the PBCGA Point Cup Races presented by The Golf Crypt, Jupiter : Open Points Cup , Senior Points Cup and the Super Senior Points Cup .
The event will consist of a 54-hole Four-Ball Stroke Play Championship (two person teams), played over three days (Friday, May 3 – Sunday, May 5).
Approximately 46 teams will tee-it-up and compete in the following formats.
First Round – Two Man Scramble: Both players tee off on every hole. The team determines the tee shot they would like to play. Both players hit from the chosen position. This procedure is followed on every shot for the remainder of the hole, including putts. The lie of ball may be improved. In improving the lie, the ball may be moved no more than one scorecard length from where it originally comes to rest and no nearer the hole. It may NOT be moved to a different cut (rough to fairway, collar to green) or out of a penalty area or bunker. Please note that you cannot change golf balls during the play of a hole.
Second Round – Modified Alternate Shot: (Chapman/Pinehurst) – Both players tee off on every hole. You then play your partners drive for your second shot. After second shots have been played, one ball is selected to complete the hole and that ball must be played alternately until holed out. Please note that penalty strokes do not affect the order of play. It is permitted to putt with either ball once on the putting green.
Final Round – Better Ball: form of stroke play in which two competitors play as partners, each playing his own ball. The lower score of the partners is the score for the hole. If one partner fails to complete the play of a hole, there is no penalty.
Tournament Field is Limited, register early to secure your team’s entry!
