Tournament Policies

If you plan to participate in any tournament(s) conducted by the PBCGA, you must read the following information.

It is your responsibility to know the rules and regulations concerning participating in PBCGA events.


CONDITIONS OF PLAY

Entries are subject to rejection at any time by the PBCGA. The reason for rejection may include false statements of handicap index, improper attire, and/or unbecoming conduct. Any person whose entry is accepted shall be subject to the rules and conditions of play set forth by the PBCGA.

TOURNAMENT ELIGIBILITY

To be a participant in a PBCGA tournament, you must be an amateur golfer. Exceptions are the Par 3 events, Parent-Child, and the Club Team event. Non-members have the option to play in PBCGA events but will be charged the non-member entry fee. PBCGA members will have entry priority over non-members.

ENTRY PRIORITY

All tournament entries MUST be completed online via www.pbcga.org. To accommodate online entries, ALL COMPLETE ENTRIES for ALL EVENTS will be accepted based on the order of receipt. Entries received after the competitive field is full or after the close of entries, will be placed on a waiting list. When an event is full, tournament withdrawals will be filled with an alternate according to the order of receipt from the waiting list (PBCGA members will have priority on the waiting list).

WITHDRAWALS PRIOR TO EVENT

Players who have applied to participate in a PBCGA event and wish to withdraw for any reason MUST complete the withdrawal online or notify the PBCGA Executive Director at (561) 625-0400 or via email /policies before the event. Players who fail to follow this procedure will be listed as a NO SHOW.

ONSITE TOURNAMENT WITHDRAWAL POLICY

Once play begins, all players wishing to withdraw must report to an Official before leaving the golf course and before the competition has closed. WITHDRAWALS: A player who withdraws (the player is obviously ill, injured, or has an emergency) before or between rounds before his/her tee time by notifying the PBCGA Executive Director: A ‘WD’ will be listed next to the player’s name on the scoreboard, website, in tournament results and press releases. No further action will be taken.

NO SHOW: Any player who fails to show up for their scheduled tee time without first notifying the PBCGA Executive Director will be disqualified under the USGA Rules of Golf. This includes but is not limited to, players leaving the golf course or failing to show up for any subsequent rounds of an event without notifying the PBCGA Executive Director.

No-show disqualification penalties that occur due to intent or a deliberate decision by the player will be listed as DQ-NS and printed next to the player’s name in the tournament results. The PBCGA Executive Director will report the disqualification to the PBCGA Competition Committee.

The player(s) will be subject to a $100 fine and/or suspension following a review by the PBCGA Competition Committee. If applicable the fine is to be paid in full and payable to the PBCGA Scholarship Fund before the player is eligible to compete in any future PBCGA events.

NO CARD: Any player who fails to sign and return his scorecard to the Tournament Committee or walks off the course during their stipulated round will be disqualified under the USGA Rules of Golf. This includes but is not limited to, players leaving the golf course.

No Card disqualification penalties that occur due to intent or a deliberate decision by the player will be listed as DQ-NC and printed next to the player’s name in the tournament results. The PBCGA Executive Director will report the disqualification to the PBCGA Competition Committee.

REFUND POLICY

Requests for refunds received before the entry closing date will be honored (less 20% of the entry per withdrawal fee). Requests received after the closing date will be honored (less 50% of the entry fee). No requests will be honored within 48 hours of the first scheduled tee time.

RULES

Play will be in accordance with the current USGA Rules of Golf, the current PBCGA Hard Card, and applicable Local Rules. Questions shall be settled by the Tournament Committee whose decision shall be final.

DRESS & ETIQUETTE

Proper attire for competitors is required at all times at the golf facility. Failure to comply may result in withdrawal of entry. The dress code prohibits tank tops, t-shirts, denim shorts, jeans, cargo shorts, and short shorts. Hats/visors must be worn with brim forward; males must remove hat/visor while indoors. All shirts must be tucked in.

FLIGHTING

If a flighted round is not completed by the entire flight, the flighting will be ignored for prize distribution.

TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

Information concerning practice rounds, course assignments, pairings, starting times, etc. will be posted on the PBCGA website at www.pbcga.org in a timely fashion before the event.

OFFICIAL EVENT

In all PBCGA Championships, an official event may be constituted by reverting to the results of an earlier round. Eighteen holes may constitute an official event.
