The Palm Beach County Golf Association Player of the Year Awards presented by The Golf Crypt Powered by Trackman are determined by the top ranked individuals in their respective divisional Player Rankings at the end of each tournament season. Rankings are also used to select Team PBCGA for the annual Smidt Cup and these standings will be used to determine invitations into the Tour Championship presented by Tiger Woods.

Player of the Year Point Races

At the end of October, the Tour Championship presented by Tiger Woods will take place. The field will comprise of the top 15 Open players from the Open Points Race, the top 12 Senior players from the Senior Points Race and the top 9 Super Senior players from the Super Senior Points Race following the completion of the Abacoa Golf Club Junior Senior. To be eligible for the Tour Championship you must compete in at least 3 events during the season.

Following the Tour Championships, the PBCGA will declare Player of the Year honors from each of the three Point Cup races. The reigning champions will be determined by the total accumulation of points following the completion of the Tour Championship.

There are 20 Championship events in which Player of the Year points can be earned. This is one way for members to start accumulating points after becoming a Palm Beach Golf Association member. You can find these events located on the Schedule.

Another great way to earn Player of the Year points when starting out is to play in a full schedule of events that offer points in your competition division. Every player who finishes in the top 30% of most events will earn Player of the Year points.

Player of the Year points are updated after completion of every Palm Beach Golf Association Tournament. Updates are completed no later than 24 hours post event completion.

Yes, Player of the Year points can be earned before becoming a member. However, membership is required to use earned points to qualify for invitational tournaments.

Members can see where all Player of the Year points were earned during the current and previous years while logged into the Player Center.

Player of the Year points that are earned will last for the duration of the year they are earned.
