ABOUT TURTLE CREEK GOLF CLUB

Turtle Creek Club has become one of the premier golf destinations in South Florida, located in the Tequesta / Jupiter area. The golf course was originally designed by Gentleman Joe Lee in 1969. He always considered Turtle Creek Club to be one of his finest accomplishments. With good reason, it is appealing to the average golfer and still challenging to the highly skilled player. The golf course was redone in 2003 when there was a conversion to paspalum grass on the tees, fairways, and rough, and tifeagle greens. It was Joe Lee’s vision at that time to remove excess undergrowth, palmetto bushes and trees to open up the course and make it more playable.

In 2016, the Turtle Creek Club completed an extensive renovation led by local architect Kipp Schulties. Mr. Schulties, along with the membership, helped modernize this Joe Lee masterpiece. The course is characterized by its open fairways and challenging greens. Also, during this renovation, there was a change in the type of grass. A type of Bermuda grass called Celebration would be used for the tees, rough, and fairways. The green surfaces were redone with Tifeagle, which was used in the past.

Nevertheless, change is constant, and work is ongoing to increase challenges for the skilled golfers as well as to provide some “play it forward” opportunities for the average golfers. Turtle Creek Club is one of those golf courses that is “different” every time you play it. A wonderful golf course with a great membership to back it up. Since our reopening in November of 2016 our “New” course has been host to sectional and local amateur and professional championships.
