44th Amateur Four Ball Championship (May 2-4, 2025)

The Palm Beach Golf Association (PBCGA) is gearing up for an exciting 2025 season, with the 44th Amateur Four Ball Championship presented by CTS3Solutions taking center stage from May 2 to May 4 at Bear Lakes Country Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. This event marks one of eight team tournaments hosted by the PBCGA throughout the year.

Golfers will compete across three divisions—Open (49 and under), Senior (50-59), and Super Senior (60+)—with points up for grabs in the PBCGA Point Cup Races , proudly presented by The Golf Crypt, Jupiter . These include the Open Points Cup, Senior Points Cup, and Super Senior Points Cup.

Spanning three days, the 54-hole Four-Ball Stroke Play Championship will feature two-person teams battling it out in a variety of formats. Approximately 46 teams are expected to participate, showcasing their skills in the following rounds:

- **First Round – Two-Man Scramble**: Both teammates tee off on each hole, selecting the preferred shot. From there, both players hit from that spot, continuing this process—including putts—until the hole is complete. The ball’s lie can be adjusted up to one scorecard length (no closer to the hole) but cannot shift to a different cut of grass or escape a penalty area or bunker. Note: Switching golf balls mid-hole is not allowed.

- **Second Round – Modified Alternate Shot (Chapman/Pinehurst)**: Each player tees off, then hits their partner’s drive for the second shot. After the second shots, the team picks one ball to finish the hole, alternating shots until it’s holed out. Penalties don’t alter the play order, and either ball may be used for putting once on the green.

- **Final Round – Better Ball**: In this stroke-play format, partners each play their own ball, and the lower score between them counts for the hole. If one player doesn’t finish a hole, there’s no penalty.

Points earned in each division will contribute to the season-long PBCGA Point Cup standings:
